HIV/AIDS

To me AIDS/HIV is the MOST dangerous S.T.D. besides the fact there is no cure, just look at the toll it takes on an individual’s body and health. Think about this scenario for a moment, say you meet a male/female and a year or so before you meet them they contracted the HIV virus from someone.  Well yall are kicking it having a great time together yall are feeling each other so yall decide to have sex unprotected, yall chill a little while longer but decide you want to see other people. The AIDS is still there it didn’t leave with the person that gave it to. We have to be careful of the things we do. I know how it is you meet someone and you may be in the heat of the moment and unprotected sex happens. Truth is we have to have more discipline when it comes to sex.  I think of sex like this, it feels good for a moment and then after to bust that nut, then what? AIDS/HIV is for a lifetime until it takes your life. Are a few a minutes or hour of sex worth your life? If it isn’t think about using protection the next time you have sex with ANYONE, even a person you are in a committed relationship with. WHY? Because people cheat every day and it’s hard to find loyal people in today’s society so it’s better to be SAFE than SORRY.
(Excuse all the yall’s but I’m from TEXAS)

Here are some symptoms of HIV/AIDS I pulled from this website

http://www.emedicinehealth.com/sexually_transmitted_diseases/page4_em.htm

HIV/AIDS Symptoms

  • Spread primarily by sexual contact and from sharing IV needles
  • Can be transmitted at the time a person becomes infected with other STDs
  • No specific symptoms or physical signs confirm HIV infection.
  • The average time from infection to the development of symptoms related to immunosuppression (decreased functioning of the immune system) is 10 years.
  • Fatigue, night sweats, chills, or fever lasting several weeks, headaches, and cough may occur a few weeks after contracting the virus initially.
  • Serious complications of AIDS include unusual infections or cancers, weight loss, intellectual deterioration (dementia), and death.

There is NO current cure but medications are available to slow disease progression

Let’s take a look at statistics on the HIV/AIDS virus I pulled this information from this website.

http://aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/hiv-aids-101/statistics/

  • More than one million people are living with HIV in the U.S.
  • One in five living with HIV is unaware of their infection.
  • MSM, particularly young, black MSM, are the most severely affected by HIV.
  • By race, African Americans face the most severe HIV burden.
  • 50,000 Americans become infected with HIV each year.
  • More than 17,000 people with AIDS in the U.S. died in 2009 and more than 619,000 people with AIDS in the U.S. have died since the epidemic began.

Just Say No to S.T.D.’s

I will be posting information on different types of Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STD’s) so that you are aware of the risk you have for catching these diseases, symptoms so you know if you may possibly have one of these diseases and ways to prevent you from catching these diseases. In the times we live in all the teens seem to be sexually active but there seems to be no sexual education being taught to the youth. So here can you find information that can help you if you are sexually active or thinking about becoming sexual active. Remember you can always contact me directly at savingtheyouth@hotmail.com if you have any questions or need to talk to someone about this subject.

“Girl Talk”

Hello Queen’s,

First, I just want to tell all the young ladee’s out there be proud of who you are!! We have been taught so many different things from society on what is considered to be beautiful, what is to be expected from a girl, how a girl should be treated, how a girl should carry herself. Well I question where does this information come from. So many people have opinions and it’s hard to know what is genuine.  From what I see no one has based what a girl is suppose to be from what GOD tells you. If we as young ladee’s put more focus on being a young ladee of GOD and not a young ladee of MAN; girl’s would be much more content with themselves because they would be confident in knowing anything GOD has made is beautiful in his sight.  People are always going to have opinions and talk so if you spend time trying to please people you can never be truly satisfied because sometimes people don’t even know what they want.  Be proud of the girl you are, the ladee you are becoming and the women you will grow into. I leave you with this poem of encouragement!!

You.Are.Amazing.

As. you. are.
Stronger than you know.
More beautiful than you think.
Worthier than you believe.
More loved than you can ever imagine.
Passionate about making a difference.
Fiery when protecting those you love.
Learning. Growing. Not alone.
Warm. Loving. Giving. Generous.
Quirky. Amazingly Sweet. Funny. Smart.
Flawed. Whole. Scared. Brave. Outgoing. Awesome. Kind.Special. & So many more wonderful things, so never forget that

Be Strong. Be Confident. Be You.

Youth Tip #1 Be Yourself

Youth Tip #1 (BE YOURSELF)

Despite what society has told you, you DO NOT have to follow the latest trend or try and keep up with the newest phone. Society has made the youth feel as though you are not cool or important if you don’t know what the newest reality t.v. show drama is or have the newest pair of Jordan’s. I just want to say that’s Bull$h*t..excuse my french but it is. Material things will never matter because they hold no value. Just imagine your entire house catching on fire and you lose everything. When reality hits certain things just do not matter. Money doesn’t even hold value in 2012 so a pair of shoes or a iphone surely holds no value. I’m here to tell you ALL  Never be afraid to be yourself. Nobody can be a better you than you! I was telling my daughter the other day nothing is new any more we recycle styles and keep in rotation the same old things. So try not to keep up, create your own style and have people try to keep up with you. If you need some advise on creating your own style or just need to talk email me at savingtheyouth@hotmail.com.

My purpose for creating Save The Youth is to give the Youth a voice, a loud voice. I want them to know there is somebody that cares about them and will not judge them; I’m just a woman trying to make it in this evil place we call Earth, while raising a young daughter and son. I just want to lend a hear to listen and some words  of encouragement to motivate the youth and inspire them. I have always loved kids and I have always been able to relate to young people. When I look at the Youth I see me. I always wished I had someone to reach out and save me and I didn’t.  I felt like my savior didn’t come until I built a relationship with God.  While on my journey building my relationship with God I have been inspired to live out my goals. One of my goals is to open a youth center. I always think about the money and how I would obtain a grant for my business and all those things which have kept me from starting. So I have decided NO more negative thinking I have to start somewhere so why not small. This is why I am going to use this Blog site, so the youth can come to me for advice, vent or just speak freely.  I want this to become a community for the Youth. Somewhere they feel save, respected and important. I want to treat them like that black lady on Help “you are smart, you are kind, you are important”..LOL But seriously I want to be able to reach out and try to save as many young boys and girls as I can. I want to be a mentor to them. I want them to be able to feel comfortable enough to talk to me when they feel like they can’t go to a parent, friend or relative.  When I look at today’s society I am really scared of what my kids have to face. I never would have dreamed of having to worry about the stuff I do now having a young daughter and son. When I was young it was bad but not this bad. Today’s society has no respect, no moral’s, no values, and no mind of their own. Everyone is busy trying to follow a trend we don’t have individuals we have groups. So I just want to show the youth there is so much more to life if they just see how precious their life is and the importance they have to the world. I read a quote it said “young people don’t need critics they need role models” some of the realest words I’ve ever read. The Youth can only follow what they are being shown. If all we are showing them is money, drugs, cars, clothes and sex, then that’s all they will be attracted to. I remember when I was growing up in the 90’s the O.G.’s never glorified being pimps and drug dealers. They actually carried themselves as business men, and they followed a code of respect and honor. These days instead of turning the kids to the schools like the O.G.’s did in my day we are turning the kids toward the streets with everything we are showing them.  When I listen to Tupac’s interviews or his music I hear the pain he felt for the World and how he wished he could change everything bad he saw. I really feel the same way when it comes to these kids because I have my own and they don’t deserve the world we live in. I read a powerful quote this morning that said “There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them” Dr. Denis Waitley. This inspired me even more to take the necessary steps in Saving The Youth. I feel like if I want what I see to change I need to be a part of the change.

Tupac said in an interview once “People love to have mercy and sympathy for everything from animals to whales to fur, to everything, except  US your YOUTH, the ones you give no attention to who become adults with no compassion”

Those are some powerful words, next time you see some kids, teens and young adults who look like they just need some attention or someone to talk to please send them my way.

“Say there ain’t no hope for the YOUTH and the truth is
it ain’t no hope for tha FUTURE” Tupac
